R.J. MacReady aka The Pony

I couldn't go too long without dedicating a post to the other half of the Goose and Pony Show.

R.J. MacReady came to us in December of 2017 after we had to say goodbye to our beloved Graham. We were looking for a pup about 8-10 months old who was completely different. Well, we got what we were looking for. He is a sweet, goofy, loving puppy with a love for adventure and troublemaking.

Mac has many nicknames. Among them are several versions of Pony since he runs around thundering his feet like a small horse. He is also very fast.

Mac came to us very afraid of new places and strangers. It took a lot of patience and training and now he's comfortable in public as long as too many people don't try to touch him. Mac loves the woods and paddle boarding and will go anywhere his Mom does.

As much as I helped him through his anxiety, Mac wanted a buddy to wrestle with and tried many times to befriend our other cats but they wouldn't give him the time of day. He's too young and rambunctious for them. Goose is the perfect solution.

As soon as they met, Mac and Goose became buddies. Goose isn't scared of him and plays just as hard. The two of them travel well together and share everything...except food. It's always a race to see who can eat the most the fastest...Mac usually wins.

I'm excited to see these two grow up together. Mac has 2 years on Goose and I think those years have mellowed him enough to control himself when it comes to playing with a small kitten.

It didn't take Goose any time at all to pick out his new best buddy which makes Mac the happiest puppy in the world. He just needed his own kitten to be a big brother to.

Now you know a little more about our Brindle Pony. He is on the shy side of this dynamic duo and maybe that's why it works so well.
