Turnipseed Nature Preserve

On the drive up to the parking lot sits this gorgeous tree. I think it's a horse chestnut. I'll have to investigate further when the leaves come back.
The drive is about a mile long and the longest trail in the entire park. There were lots of people since the weather was finally nice enough to get outside.
Goose was a big hit and socialized with several people while Mac hid behind my legs as is his polite "No Thank You" when people try to pet him.
I always assure people he is not aggressive, just shy and that he prefers not to be touched by strangers. Most people respect our wishes.
The trails were mostly empty and we had some nice stretches of trail to stop and let Goose explore. This was the view from his new pouch. He seemed to enjoy the ride with his head out in the fresh air.
Goose got some actual trail time and he enjoyed trotting next to Mac and exploring logs on the side of the trail. He's gotten used to being scooped up and put back in his sling/backpack when another dog comes down the trail.
It's important to make sure he's kept safe from dogs that might trigger seeing a cat and I don't want Goose to get scared when we're out on the trail. The whole point of these outings is to enrich his life, not to stress him out.
I am amazed by how well he does outside with everything going on, he hasn't spooked at anything or anyone. He was born to be an adventure kittah.
